Ethics & Issues 2-3: Cyberbullying
My thoughts on cyberbullying: Cyberbullying is NOT okay. If you have not seen the movie "Cyberbully" with Emily Osment as the main character, you need to watch it. It tells a story of a typically high school girl who gets on social media and gets bullied so badly to the point of wanting to end her life. The sad part is that the bullies are hidden behind a screen and you never really know who is against you unless it straight up says their name. Parents need to teach their children that it is not okay to judge people, ever. It is not okay to bully someone, ever. Children, especially high schoolers, will go out of their way to make someone feel bad just because they are different from them. Young people need to come together instead of breaking each other down because those are the crucial years. When it comes to the schools, I believe that yes, schools DO need to have a rule in place for cyberbullying because cyberbullying plays hand in hand with bullying at school. Students
